body shop

my bit of charity this month goes to the body shop.
i bought this lip balm…i have too many lip balms, but i keep buying them. who knows why???

but anyways…this is their campaign. raising awareness for safe sex. something not only people in ‘poor’ countries should be aware of.

otherwise you wouldn’t have to advertise the morning after pill . shocking really…they were discussing whether they should advertise it on tv the other week, and all of a sudden it’s being aired!

i think i might have even heard a radio ad for it! to me that just screams out warrington, where i live. no offense to the sensible people who live there, but the majority are like blocks of wood!!

otherwise you wouldn’t see this being advertised would you??

SCARY!! i never used to drink that much whenever i went out! i would always be worried about falling on my face and cutting it on glass or something! (that was sooooo vain!) now i just don’t go out, coz i can’t be arsed! it’s a waste of money and too many idiots around. i’d rather go and ride my bike.

Swim-a-thon

For Comic Relief (Red Nose Day), one of the clients of my work did a swim-a-thon. i signed up to do my bit for it, thinking it’s a great opportunity to do my bit to charity, and also to see if my training with the long distance club is paying off. i was put down to do 30 mins swimming, but because i was a bit late, i only had 25 mins left. my aim was to swim about 1000m, thinking i would just make it. so i set off, swimming at an easy pace. at first the PT guy who was counting the lengths wasn’t there, and i thought hey! ur supposed to be counting! so i counted…till 8 lenghts, then i lost track. hehe. after about 10 mins of swimming, i saw him again. he started walking along the poolside, which was a great help. so i’m swimming, and at the same time, i’m keeping an eye out for kathryn, who took me there, hoping she would not get bored watching me swim back and forth. all of a sudden she was gone!! and i’m thinking…great she must be bored. but instead, she took these for me! thanks kathryn!!

ok i know i look sweaty and red and not pretty, but i managed to swim 58 lengths in just 25 mins! and that is a grand total of 1276m! and i’m really pleased with this. Qhotel wanted to get to equivalent distance as the english channel, and i hope my contribution helped out, as the lady after me swam only 12 lengths in 15 mins! bless!!
