me who?
I am half Indonesian, half German. I was born and raised in Surabaya, Indonesia, the most beautiful country in the world! I miss it. There, I went to an international school, Surabaya International School, from Kindergarten till grade 11. In 1999, we moved to Immenstaad, Germany. It was a big change, and definitely not an easy one. My brother and I didn’t speak the language, so we had to have lessons. It was really frustrating and scraped on my psyche. After failing my first year at the German high school, Karl-Maybach Gymnasium in Friedrichshafen, I gave it another go at grade 12. I wasn’t doing much better than my first shot at it, so I gave up on it. I just thought, I need to get out of here, before I see myself fail another time. I was really bummed, and didn’t know left from right.
In 2001, I pulled myself together and wanted to start something new with my life. I wanted to do something with art, and something with computers. Sounds really stupid, but back then, I didn’t know there was such a thing as graphic design. So after many career counseling talks, I found a school close to my home that accepted me as a student. The Schule fuer Gestaltung in Ravensburg, was my home for the next four years. Well, I wouldn’t say home, it was the place I went to to learn the trade of graphic design. I graduated with a diploma in 2005.
After many randoms jobs and many internships, I met someone at the airport last year who, after a couple months, offered me a job as a graphic designer in England. Not knowing where she was working and in what campany, I applied for the job. Hahah! I guess, that was my next blind step I took.
And now here I am…

And I remembered my old (young) friend. Look me up on Facebook.
